This is the first time i have heard of Aeroponics.Thery are really interesting.I learnt that the plants there does not take in normal water but some kind of liquid which i think is quite special.
Yesterday, I went to the Aeroponics Farm .We saw many different kinds of plants .Our guide showed us differen kinds of plants eg. cotton plant , lemon grass and many other types. I managed to take some pictures of some of the plants. We were also given a bottle of vegetable juice each. I also learned the difference between Hydroponics and Aeroponics. I find this learning journey very exciting and I am looking foward to the next one.
I was quite amazed by how far morden science had taken us.The way they rear plants in the aeroponics saves land as Singapore is very small. From what I learnt, the plants there take in a kind of special solution not entirely made of water only.
The trip to the Aeroponics Farm was really interesting.I have learnt that they grow plants not by soil by by only using water. The guide first let us watch a video on what they do every day then we took a bus to the farm where they harvest their plants. At the farm, we ate our titbits, Ms Jan gave us a bottle of butterhead juice, then we headed to the farm. The farms`were covered in butterfly nets but I saw a few holes and some of the doors were open. The guide showed us some of the plants they grew and what were their smells. After that, the guide let us see another video about two spies learning about Singapore. I am looking foward to my next excursion.
When we went to the Aeroponics Farm,I learnt the difference between aeroponics and hydroponics. The guide said that aeroponics mean like taking a shower and hydroponics means like being in a bathtub. The way they grow the plnts is very interesting as they do not use soil, instead they spray a liquid on the roots so that the plant gets nutrients
I had learnt more about Aeroponics as I had already heard it before.I thought that they are really interesting as they did not plant the plants into the soil.I had also learnt that the plants took in some kind of fertiliser that i thought it was quite weird.Actually I felt quite hot when I was in the Aeroponics Farm.
I bought a mini cactus. This is the first time I ever heard of Aeroponics. The Tour Guide showed us some plants, for example:lemon grass, cotton plant, spring onion, mint leaf, laksa leaf, curry leaf.I enjoyed the trip and I hope to go to more farms.
The sun was super hot and it was boring. I did not like it very much. But, the only interesting things were: 1.I saw a toad in one of the cactus plants! 2.There was a snake clinging onto the stem of the passion fruit!
when i reached the aeroponics farm, i had mmy break.i drank the butterhead juice(it tasted HORRIBLE. i regretted drinking :P ) then we explore the farm. the green house was not very fun. i went to the herbs and spices farm next. we held and smelled the herbs and spices. i loved the mint. At the last plant i visited at the herbs and spices farm, there was a snake. almost everyone fleed. our class went to watch a funny video next. we we went out to buy cactus, there was a toad. i bought a cactus and named it Pricky.(cacti are spiky and pricky!)
I love the aeroponics method as it saves land and does not need soil at all. I think Singapore's goverment should create more of such farms. The guide gave us each a bottle butterscotch lettuce and kiwi juice. Although it was quite bitter and the taste of the lettuce was very strong,i still enjoyed it.The guide showed us many plants like lemon grass, cotton plant.eg.I loved the chinese rose the most as in the morning it is white, in the after noon it is purple and in the night it is red. Then, it wilters and dies.I think that it's lifespan is too short.I mean, can you imagine living for just a day?(118 words)
When we went to the Aeroponics Farm,I learnt about what is the difference between aeroponic and hydroponic plants. This is the second time I have been to that aeroponics farm and it was even more interesting than the first time! Now that we had a guide to show us around,I could understand more about the plants. There,I saw some plants which I am familiar with.I saw the mock strawberry (which my grandfather grows in his garden),Lemon grass(which I have in my garden),the spring onion(which is also grown in my garden),bittergourd(which my uncle grows in his garden)and the curry plant(which both my father and my grandfather both grow in their garden).I saw a plant which's flower changes its colour throughout the day.It was called the cotton plant. We drank free butterhead juice and most people(including me)HATED it.Other than that,I enjoyed the trip and will definitely visit that place again.
